Slide notes:
In response to the lack of a worldwide consensus on which patients should receive thromboprophylaxis, combined with the increasing volume of evidence in support of thromboprophylaxis in acutely ill medical patients, an internationally relevant risk-assessment model (RAM) is being developed. The aim of this RAM is to help physicians identify medical patients at risk of VTE and decide whether they should receive thromboprophylaxis.
The following presentations discuss the use of RAMs in the management of medical patients and give the perspective of different countries: Risk Factor Assessment Caprini Hospitalized Medical Patients Tapson French Perspective Bergmann German & International Perspectives Haas |
